I’m Dr Katelyn Lord, a HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist with experience working in physical health settings. I have spent the past several years supporting individuals experiencing psychological distress linked to physical health conditions, particularly within medical and dental contexts.

My passion lies in helping people living with chronic orofacial pain and other long-term pain conditions. This work has given me a deep appreciation of the complex relationship between physical pain, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life.

I also work with individuals experiencing dental anxiety, severe gag reflex, and needle phobia, helping them manage these challenges with compassion and evidence-based strategies.

I am a certified Empowered Relief™ instructor, delivering a two-hour, single-session intervention developed at Stanford University, designed to help people understand and manage chronic pain more effectively.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), offering a calm and collaborative space to explore your experiences and move towards what truly matters to you.
